Ghosts

Ghosts from a time

long forgotten

flicker on the wall

of this old house

Here, they once lived

with their worries

strange hair and

peculiar clothes

We think them old

but one day we

will be the ghosts

left to haunt this

same home

We think it ours

but it is not so

don’t hold on too tightly

when it is time

to let go

Thoughts

I’ve been investigating old 16mm projectors from the 1930’s. As you do. You see the people in these films and think ‘They are all dead’. All the worries and stresses that they must have felt. All now gone. It will be us soon. What will people make of the things on Instagram in a hundred years time? Will we look as ancient as those in the 1930’s?

I bet Belvoir Castle has some ghosts and some stories to tell.
