Hibernation

It has turned four

And still the light continues

To pour through my window

After an eternity of rain

The sun has lifted us all

And once again we are

Hopeful for the future

Bring forth the flowers

The birds and butterflies

Spring is not so far off

But frost can return

At any time so we keep

Our cardigans buttoned up tight

Fighting winter is futile

It always wins but

Hibernation is a valid option

Both for bears

And for me

Thoughts

Immediately after writing this, the heavens opened and the darkness engulfed us.

Here is a brighter day to lift our spirits.
