I Waited

I waited, but you did not come

Stood, half dressed, rearranging

Heroes on a wall

Electricity flowing at every

Creek of floorboard and door

What did I expect

Had you ascended?

Having no concept that

What I wanted was a crime

I am grateful that you

Didn’t have to do time

Or leave me with

A coat of shame

That I would be unable to take off

Only now do I know that

I wanted to be seen

Acknowledged and accepted

But presented in a childish

Way that sought danger and discipline

Thank you for keeping away

And saving us both

Thoughts

Well this is a mix of teenage confusion. Strange things are afoot a the Circle K.
