Make Mistakes

Make mistakes

But what if it breaks?

Then we will fix it

Or repair in such a way

That we give new life

To ourselves

Do not say, I am afraid

For fear is like quicksand

It pulls you down

With its clammy hand

And refuses to let go

Then you must wait for someone to rescue you

Today, that person is me

Do not be afraid anymore

Step out of the void

And embrace yourself anew

Thoughts

We need to have space to make mistakes, fail and try again. We learn in the doing and we are stronger and better for it.

Our apple tree, twenty years ago. Still going strong today.
