Reflections on Writing

Restless rain that dances over the pavement in ways I can’t describe

Haphazard like my words across this page

Do they have meaning

Or is meaning derived by your reading

Am I speaking?

Surely, but do you hear me?

Or do you read into these suggestions

A narrative already formed

Can we be open enough

To listen without prejudice

Or do we always bring a sense

Of history and our own hopelessness

Do we stand on our own merit

Or are we throttled by overused

Language from the mouths of masters

Long dead but still living

In our head

Thoughts

My love of Paris was solidified by watching Amelie back in 2002. It inspired me in so many ways. It’s an amazing fantastical film grounded in real places that you can visit and take a picture of.
