The Margins

I live on the margins

Pushed out to the edges

By those who respected me once

I am heavily invested

Unable to leave

Still believe in all things orthodox

I call into question

The times we’re unbending

And dogma is held from above

And I’ll pick at the scabs

Of our unhealing wounds

But know that I do it in love

For the worldview you share

Will never compare

With the majesty that can be seen

You cannot preach grace

With a heart filled with hate

For people will think you obscene

So come out to the margins

With the poor and the broken

And maybe you might find yourself

Thoughts
