We Do Not Strike

Striking the side of my gin

Calls to mind the meditation bell

Inviting me to sit and wait

Waiting

Sitting

Inviting

I am drawn inwards with 29 botanicals

A tonic for the soul

Reaches into the earth

Riches that I cannot fathom

Out of nothing comes everything

Such violence in the harvesting of herbs

Though we do not strike only invite

The body, mind and drink are one

Thoughts

We have a pair of lovely gin glasses that have a wonderfully sonorous quality when struck. It always reminds me of the meditation bell. If you have 20 minutes then please join me with Thich Nhat Hahn.

We saw Elbow twice in 2024. This time at Audley End rather than a sports arena. Off in the distance stood the stately home, stoic as we danced and cheered.
