Wood
Cold overgrown woodland home
What secrets do you hide
Beneath the blanket of leaves
That covers your weary nature
What do you feel as I pass through you
As you touch my soul
Through the sole of my shoe
Have you always known
And I have forgotten
Only to realise when I return
To your nurturing earth
You continue to provide
And impress upon me
Your greatness, even when
You are stick thin and pale
For you are cyclical
Proving that resurrection always follows death
And if I can gain
But a fraction of your wisdom
From our time together
Then I will know that I am blessed
