In The Dark
Groping around in the dark
Trying to find the parts of you
That have been lost
Here, take my torch
See that you have not dropped anything
You are complete
And have only discarded those things
That you no longer need
Having picked them up in your youth
You now see it is time
To let go of these peripheries
Until the only thing remaining
Is you

Thoughts
This is a shot of a sculpture in Amsterdam from a few years ago. It’s modelled on Rodin’s The Thinker and the gold suit makes me think of the cost of space travel both monetarily and to the individual. It’s been 20 years since I read it but Moondust by Andrew Smith offers a spectacular insight into the price the astronauts paid.
