New Beginnings

It feels almost trite to speak

Of new beginnings when we have lost so much

Yet here we are back at the start

But this time we are changed

And though we continue to carry the weight

We know that we can put it down on occasion

Without guilt or condemnation

It does not mean we love them less

Or have moved on

Instead, we remember the love we shared

And still do even as we are separated

For a short time

Remember I am yours and you are mine

Thoughts

New Year’s Day kids! Happy New Year to you all. Sometimes looking forward means looking back.

I decided to get a Hobonichi HON Cousin planner for this year. I like to write all my poems with a fountain pen in a book even though my spelling and handwriting are atrocious. It feels so much better than typing.
