It’s Easy to See

It’s easy to see the break

The bruise and cut

Much harder to see the ache

Especially when behind the eyes

Or suffocated by a heavy heart

I wish I could hold you

Through the layers of cotton wool

Which surround your fragile nest

A home made for one

To get through would mean

Pulling it apart, but doing so

Runs the risk of hurting you

So know that I am here

To help you dismantle when ready

And to sit, wait and love you

While you are not

Thoughts

Mental health is like these icicles.

Strong yet fragile.

Able to pierce the heart and melt.

Beautiful yet cold.
