Genesis

What can I bring you today

White page made in a land

Far away from where I now sit

And contemplate meaning

And how I might fit

In this ongoing narrative

That lives in my head

My Japanese friend, whom

I have never met

Set these leaves in order

Did she think on what would come

From my pen

I don’t have the yen to know

It’s beyond my ken

But then again

I know she is hopeful

And hope filled for she

Creates for the creators

Go forth and multiply

Thoughts

A poem about paper. The notebook I use was made in Japan by someone I will never meet. They create so that I can create.

It reminded me of an Open Mic Night that I used to run many years ago. I didn’t matter how good you were, you could come and play and be encouraged. We had such incredible people who made such beautiful music.
