Online Reviews

What did we do

Before we had online reviews

Did we just buy stuff?

Like, walk into a shop

And buy stuff?

How did we know if we

Were buying the best coat

For the winter

I don’t remember reading

Magazines about the best

Cups to use for an

Autumnal gender reveal

How is it the hammer I

Bought blind 30 years

Ago still works

Well, you didn’t buy it did you?

Your dad did and gave it to you

Past wisdom passed down

No naysayers to consider

On page 31 of trustpilot

With an axe to grind

Thoughts

I used to book holidays where you didn’t know where you were going. You’d select Turkey and then get allocated a resort on arrival. My expectations were so low that it didn’t matter where I ended up, it was always great. And it was usually a bargain. Then one day the internet appeared and started to tell you all the terrible places you might end up.

Phuket was beautiful as was the hotel but there were a few dodgy reviews that had me worried in the run up to getting there. I sometimes miss blissful ignorance and enjoying the moment and the adventure.
