Wooden Buddha
How much is too much
for a wooden Buddha?
Can it be measured
and weighed
as if it is just
another capitalistic choice?
Surely there is no price
too high or too low
for do we even know
if there is a wooden Buddha
for sale
If everything is an illusion
and attachment leads to suffering
would it be a wise purchase
or would we be better off
letting it go?

Thoughts
Today’s inspiration comes from a quote from the Hobonichi HON 2026 by Ken Kagami. He wanted to buy the Buddha but thought it too expensive. He asked his daughter what to do and she said “If you want it, then buy it”. So he did.
Is this a bed, art or a giant tin can? What is real? Are any of us here?
