The Beach

Was that only yesterday

It felt like years ago

So why does 1985

feel like last week

The last time I bought

ice-cream transported me

through time to your feet

fingers in sand

hand in hand

on the beach

while children with evil intentions

poke and pry at a jellyfishies

secrets they were unable to find

I wonder now

how they are

and if they are

still looking

Thoughts

In case you are wondering, I usually take 7 pictures at a time from over the years and copy them across to the website. I then pick the most appropriate one for the poem. Most of the time they are way off. Today’s image is no exception although the people in the Pompidou Centre could probably join the dots.
