Make Do And Mend
See the industrial container
filled with flat screen TV’s
these once cutting edge devices
had neighbours peering through windows
and over hedges with delight
and jealousy
Now, sent to a graveyard
next to countless white goods
and unexploded batteries
Give me the right to repair
and a culture that demands longevity
rather than incremental upgrades
and built in obsolescence
My carbon footprint seems small
but combined, it is crushing us all

Thoughts
My trip to the tip had an impact on me. The piles of TV’s and Fridge Freezers in particular. So much stuff!
I love books. Always have, and the chance to buy second hand is not a chance to be missed. Here we are a few days in to our last trip to Brighton. We ended the week with sixty books. We’re working our way through steadily.
Check out Amnesty in Brighton for some of the best.
