The End

And so

we come to the end

What a journey it has been

Think of all the things

we have seen and thoughts

we have shared

Some I have enjoyed

but let us not pretend

for some have been hard

Poems are like life

in that way

and should be treasured

in that regard

We did it! 365 days later and here we are. I am amazed that I made it. What did it teach me? The power of consistancy. Do something everyday. I don’t think I got better as a poet as I realised I am not one. But I think made me better as a writer. I have a number of half finished books that never went anywhere but as a result of doing this, I am almost at the end of my first novel. Without the daily poem, I would not have had the idea for my book, or the confidence to complete it.

Thank you for reading. I’m not sure what happens next. I should finish my book in the next two months but maybe I will continue to post in the interim too?
