Send Me
Send me over sand and surf
beneath granite skies
and the gulls who hang upon the wind
Send me over beaten moors and gravel shores
to a run down house
of memories that you left me
in a bag tied up with string
and hidden under my bed
for others to find
long after I am gone
I need nothing more
than the weight I carry
and the sea to slough it from my shoulders

Thoughts
I’ve just watched The Ballad of Wallis Island. It was great and inspired me to write this poem. I recommend you watch it for I think it will inspire you too.
Sometimes the accompanying photo is massively inappropriate. Today is one of those days.
